Gambling Can Be Fun — But It Carries Real Risk

Whether you enjoy following PSL cricket odds, placing live bets during ICC tournament nights, or spinning the reels on a slot game — gambling is a pastime that millions of people engage with for entertainment. At its best, it adds a layer of excitement to sport and games you already love.

But gambling also involves real financial risk. Losses are not just possible — over time, they are statistically inevitable for most players. The house always holds a mathematical edge, and no strategy, system or hot streak changes that fundamental reality. pkrb does not dress this up with false promises or guaranteed-win language.

What we do offer is complete transparency about how gambling works, what tools are available to keep you in control, and where to turn if gambling ever stops being enjoyable and starts becoming a problem. Whether you're in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi or Peshawar — this page has the information you need.

"Responsible gambling means playing with money you can afford to lose, for entertainment — not as a way to earn income or recover what you've lost."
⚠ Pakistan Legal Context: Pakistan's Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 and other applicable legislation may restrict online gambling activity. pkrb does not claim that gambling is legal or government-approved in Pakistan. Users must understand and comply with all laws applicable in their jurisdiction before participating in any gambling activity. This page does not constitute legal advice.
18+

Adults Only — Strictly Enforced

pkrb operates a strict 18+ age policy across the entire Platform. No person under the age of 18 — or the higher minimum age required by the relevant operator's license jurisdiction — may register, deposit, play or access gambling-related services through pkrb.

Age verification via CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card) is a mandatory step before any withdrawal privileges are activated. Where age cannot be confirmed, accounts are suspended pending resolution.

Being 18+ does not make gambling lawful in Pakistan. Age verification is an operator requirement and a responsible gambling measure — it is not a statement about the legal status of gambling in your location.

  • Age verification is mandatory — no exceptions
  • CNIC document required for Pakistani users
  • Accounts flagged for underage registration are closed immediately
  • All associated funds are handled under applicable minor-protection obligations
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents & Guardians: If you believe a minor in your household is accessing gambling services, contact us at [email protected] immediately. Use parental control software to restrict access to gambling sites. We take all underage access reports as urgent priority.

Player Protection Tools Available on pkrb

Six practical tools you can activate at any time from your account settings — or by contacting support — to keep your gambling experience in check.

Financial Control
Deposit Limits

Set a maximum deposit amount per day, week or month. Once your limit is reached, no further deposits can be made until the period resets. Limit reductions apply immediately. Increases require a cooling-off review period before they take effect — protecting you from impulsive decisions made in the heat of a match.

Loss Control
Loss Limits

Define the maximum net amount you are prepared to lose in a given day, week or month. Once your loss threshold is reached, further wagering is automatically suspended for the remainder of that period — regardless of whether a PSL final is still in play. This tool is one of the most effective measures against chasing losses.

Time Control
Session Time Limits

Set a hard cap on how long each gambling session can last. When your session timer expires, the platform logs you out automatically. You can also set periodic on-screen reminders — pop-up reality checks at 30, 60 or 90-minute intervals — to help you stay aware of how long you've been playing and how much you've wagered.

Short Break
Cooling-Off Period

Need a short break? Apply a cooling-off period of 24 hours to 6 weeks directly from your account settings. During a cooling-off, you cannot log in or deposit, but your account remains open and your balance is preserved. This is ideal for users who recognise they need a short pause but do not want permanent self-exclusion.

Long Break
Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is a formal, binding commitment to stop gambling for an extended period — 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or permanently. Once activated, your account is closed, deposits are blocked and marketing communications are suppressed immediately. Self-exclusion cannot be reversed before the chosen period expires, no matter what you request. Use this tool if you feel gambling is affecting your wellbeing.

Awareness
Reality Checks

Reality check notifications appear on-screen at intervals you choose, displaying how long you have been playing, your net win/loss for the session, and a prompt to take a break or review your limits. These gentle interruptions help combat the immersive, time-distorting quality of in-play betting and live casino sessions — something even experienced players benefit from.

Setting Limits — Step by Step

All limits can be set, reviewed and adjusted from the Responsible Gambling section of your pkrb account dashboard. You can also contact our support team 24/7 to have limits applied on your behalf — useful if you want to act immediately in a moment of clarity.

Key principles to understand before setting limits:

  • Limit reductions take effect immediately — the new lower limit applies to your very next deposit or session.
  • Limit increases require a mandatory review period before they activate. This is intentional — it gives you time to reconsider.
  • Limits are applied at the account level and cannot be bypassed by creating a second account. Multi-accounting is a violation of pkrb's Terms & Conditions and results in account closure.
  • If you have a self-exclusion active, no limit changes are possible until the exclusion expires.
ℹ PKR Limit Example: If you set a weekly deposit limit of PKR 5,000 and you have already deposited PKR 3,000 this week, only PKR 2,000 further is permitted before the limit blocks further deposits until the week resets. The platform enforces this automatically — you do not need to track it manually.
Daily Deposit Limit

The maximum amount you can deposit into your account in a 24-hour rolling period. Calculated from the time of your first deposit that day. Expressed in PKR. Ideal for users who want fine-grained daily control without setting a broader weekly cap.

Weekly Deposit Limit

A maximum deposit cap across a rolling 7-day window. Effective for players whose gambling activity clusters around weekends, PSL match days or ICC tournament fixtures. Resets automatically each week.

Monthly Deposit Limit

A calendar-month cap on total deposits. Useful for longer-term budget planning — especially during extended tournament seasons like the PSL group stage or an ICC World Cup. Resets at the beginning of each calendar month.

Loss Limit (Daily / Weekly / Monthly)

A net loss cap — the maximum you are prepared to lose, not simply the maximum you can deposit. Once your net losses reach the threshold, wagering is suspended automatically. This is a more protective control than a deposit limit alone, particularly for high-frequency in-play bettors.

Wager / Stake Limit

A cap on the maximum single bet or wager you can place per event or per game round. Prevents individual large bets that could result in significant single-session losses — a common pattern in problem gambling behaviour associated with high-stakes cricket match betting.

Session Duration Limit

A hard time limit on continuous play per session. When the session timer expires, you are automatically logged out. You may log back in after a short break, but the interruption is valuable — it forces a reassessment of whether you want to continue and how you are feeling about your session so far.

Self-Exclusion — When You Need a Full Stop

Self-exclusion is the strongest player-protection tool available on pkrb. It is designed for users who recognise that they need to stop gambling entirely for a meaningful period — whether due to financial pressure, emotional distress, relationship impact or any other reason. There is no shame in using it. It is a sign of self-awareness, not weakness.

Once a self-exclusion is active, your account is closed immediately, all deposit routes are blocked, all marketing communications are cancelled, and your details are flagged to prevent re-registration during the exclusion period. You can choose:

6 Months Short-term break
1 Year Standard exclusion
5 Years Extended break
Permanent Lifetime closure

Self-exclusion periods cannot be shortened once applied. If you choose 6 months, the exclusion runs for the full 6 months — no exceptions, regardless of what you request or claim at a later date. This firmness is intentional and is there to protect you.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can develop gradually. Recognising the early signs — in yourself or someone you care about — is the most important step toward getting help.

Warning
💸 Chasing Losses

Placing additional bets specifically to recover money lost in previous sessions. This is the single most common warning sign of problem gambling and is strongly associated with escalating financial harm. If you find yourself doing this, stop immediately.

Warning
🕐 Time Distortion

Losing track of how much time you've spent gambling — regularly playing through meal times, late into the night, or during family commitments. Live betting on PSL matches and continuous casino sessions are particularly associated with this pattern.

Warning
🤫 Hiding Activity

Concealing gambling activity from family members, friends or your spouse. Hiding deposits, withdrawals or losses. Lying about how much time or money you have spent. Secrecy around gambling is a significant indicator that its scale has become a problem.

Watch Out
💳 Financial Pressure

Gambling with money set aside for rent, household bills, school fees or other commitments. Borrowing money — from friends, family or lenders — to fund gambling activity. Using payment methods like JazzCash or Easypaisa accounts for repeated gambling deposits that exceed your budget.

Watch Out
😔 Emotional Impact

Feeling anxious, irritable, depressed or restless when not gambling, or after losing. Using gambling as a way to escape from stress, relationship problems or difficult feelings. These emotional patterns suggest gambling has moved from leisure into dependency territory.

Priority
🔁 Escalating Bets

Gradually increasing the size of bets to achieve the same level of excitement — a pattern similar to tolerance in substance addiction. Moving from PKR 500 bets to PKR 5,000 or PKR 10,000 bets without a corresponding increase in affordable budget is a clear escalation warning.

Is Gambling a Problem for You?

The following questions are adapted from widely used responsible gambling self-assessment frameworks. They are not a clinical diagnosis — they are a starting point for honest self-reflection. If you answer "yes" to two or more questions, we strongly encourage you to contact our support team or review your account limits.

1

Have you ever spent more money gambling than you planned or could comfortably afford?

2

Have you gambled with money that was set aside for rent, bills, groceries or other essential expenses?

3

Have you tried to win back money you lost during a previous gambling session?

4

Have you felt restless, irritable or anxious when you tried to cut down or stop gambling?

5

Have you concealed the extent of your gambling activity from a family member, partner or friend?

6

Have you borrowed money or sold items to fund gambling activity?

7

Has gambling affected your ability to meet work, family or social responsibilities?

8

Have you placed increasingly larger bets to get the same level of excitement from gambling?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions: Please reach out to pkrb support at [email protected] to discuss limit settings or self-exclusion. You can also speak to a trusted family member or community leader. Recognising a problem is the most important and courageous step. You do not have to act alone.

Medical & Mental Health

Problem gambling can be linked to anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges. A qualified GP, psychiatrist or psychologist can provide clinical assessment and referral to appropriate treatment. Seeking professional help is a sign of strength.

Online Self-Help Tools

International responsible gambling organisations provide self-help resources, self-exclusion frameworks, and structured programmes for people working through gambling-related challenges. Check the FAQ section of this site for guidance on using pkrb's built-in tools effectively.

📋 Note on External Resources: pkrb recommends that users seek support from qualified mental health professionals, trusted family members and reputable counselling services available in their local area. 10 Rules for Responsible Play

These principles apply whether you're watching a Pakistan vs England Test match, following PSL playoffs or playing an evening casino session.

01
Only gamble what you can afford to lose

Set a budget before you start and treat it as entertainment spending — not an investment. If you lose it, the session is over.

02
Never chase losses

Increasing your stakes to recover losses is the fastest path to financial harm. Accept losses as the cost of entertainment and move on.

03
Set time limits before each session

Decide how long you will play before you start, not while you're in the middle of a live match or casino session.

04
Gambling is entertainment, not income

No betting system, strategy or cricket prediction guarantees a profit. Treat every wager as spending on entertainment — because that is exactly what it is.

05
Take regular breaks

Step away between sessions. Live betting during a PSL double-header can create an artificially continuous gambling environment. Physical breaks reset your perspective.

06
Don't gamble under emotional stress

Anger, sadness, loneliness and financial anxiety all distort decision-making. If your emotional state is not settled, it is not the right time to gamble.

07
Use the tools available to you

Deposit limits, loss limits, session timers and self-exclusion are not signs of weakness — they are smart, proactive decisions. Use them before you need them.

08
Keep other interests in your life

Gambling should be one of many hobbies, not the primary one. Maintain relationships, exercise, cricket participation at a local club, and other activities alongside any online betting.

09
Be honest with the people around you

Secrecy around gambling is a warning sign in itself. Being open with family or trusted friends about the fact that you gamble — and how much — builds accountability and prevents isolation.

10
Ask for help when you need it

Contact pkrb support, speak to a doctor, or reach out to a family member. Getting help early is far easier and less harmful than waiting until the situation becomes a crisis.

Enjoy pkrb Responsibly — Every Session

Responsible gambling is not just a policy page — it's a practice. Use your pkrb account tools, set your limits before your next session, and remember: the most important match is the one where you stay in control of yourself.
